Over the past months, the CIRAWA project has benefited from the Go To Market service offered by the Horizon Results Booster, an initiative that aids European Commission-funded projects in managing their intellectual property and maximizing commercialization potential.
The service focused on one of CIRAWA’s key outcomes: high-quality, climate-resilient seeds. These seeds were evaluated earlier in the year through the Business Plan Development service, which served as a pre-assessment for the Go To Market support. The goal was to address potential obstacles and refine strategies for successful commercialization.
The seeds are owned by a consortium of Gambian institutions—NARI (National Agricultural Research Institute), NATC (National Agricultural Training Centre), and NSS (National Seed Services). These partners, alongside CARTIF (the project coordinator responsible for exploitation), and UDS (leader of stakeholder engagement), collaborated with the Horizon Results Booster’s external coach to create a detailed exploitation roadmap.
Through internal discussions and guidance from the external coach, the team developed a clear strategy to move forward with the commercialization of these high-quality seeds, ensuring their successful market introduction. This service has played a critical role in strengthening CIRAWA’s strategy for improving seed resilience in the face of climate change, bringing the project one step closer to achieving its objectives in agricultural sustainability.
